About Abigail's

Abigail's opened it's doors 35 years ago in Osterville, Massachusetts, a resort town on Cape Cod. A young mother, who had a little girl named Abigail, wanted to dress her daughter in classic-style outfits and realized that other mothers wanted the same thing--thus, the concept for Abigail's Children's Boutique was created. Families vacationing on the Cape loved shopping at Abigail's and a second store was opened in Wellesley, Massachusetts in 1976. The Osterville store eventually closed in order to focus attention on the Wellesley store which continued to grow in popularity. In 1995 two sisters assumed ownership of Abigail's. They continued the tradition of providing classic-style clothing and added a touch of stylish-flair. The number of Abigail's customers spread throughout the United States, and in 2005 an ecommerce site, www.abigails.com, was launched. Today Abigail's has customers worldwide from as far away as Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom.
