About Abigail's

Abigail's opened it's doors 35 years ago in Osterville, Massachusetts, a resort town on Cape Cod. A young mother, who had a little girl named Abigail, wanted to dress her daughter in classic-style outfits and realized that other mothers wanted the same thing--thus, the concept for Abigail's Children's Boutique was created. Families vacationing on the Cape loved shopping at Abigail's and it was decided to open a second store in Wellesley, Massachusetts in 1976.The traditional-style look was exactly what Boston-area mothers were looking for and Abigail's quickly became well known throughout the region. The Osterville store eventually closed in order to focus attention on the Wellesley store, which continued to grow in popularity.

In 1995 two sisters assumed ownership of Abigail's. Having young children of their own, they understood the desire for mothers to dress their children "like children". They combed the markets looking for manufacturers of classic-style clothing with just a touch of stylish-flair. News spread about Abigail's and the number of customers grew throughout the United States. In 2005 our ecommerce site, www.abigails.com, was launched. Today Abigail's has customers worldwide from as far away as Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom.
